I joined the team at Moorpark Junior School in January 2016 as an Assistant Headteacher and in September 2019 I became Head of School. I entered the teaching profession in 2001.   I have extensive experience of leading quality teaching and learning, curriculum, staff development and SEND through my current and previous roles. I commit to and continue to drive high standards of governance for the school and ensure that the governing body are fully informed and regularly up to date in all aspects of the school’s performance.

I entered the teaching profession in 2001.   I have extensive experience of leading quality teaching and learning, curriculum and staff development within numerous schools, different local authorities and external education partners. I have substantial experience, gained since 1991, of providing financial and strategic planning support to school leaders and governors nationally – initially, for two large local authorities then, from 2003 to present day, working for my own company –ReformEd Limited.

   Michael’s career has included working within large-scale public and private sector organisations, primarily within Marketing and Health & Safety. He is a registered and practising Osteopath having studied locally at Keele University.

Michael is passionate about health and safety and is the Managing Director of his own Health & Safety training company specialising in  the education & voluntary sectors, as well as having a multitude of private sector clients throughout the UK.

Previous employment includes being responsible for multi-site, multi-million pound sports complexes – managing day to day operational  needs combined with strategic governance. With a long career history of senior positions in the public and private sectors and now self-  employed, he brings a thorough perspective and potential support with HR and health and safety alongside business.

I qualified as a teacher in 1985 and have worked in 6 different schools in Staffordshire and Cheshire. I have 2 grown up sons and my first introduction to governorship was as a parent.  Following retirement I have continued my interest in education with supply work in various settings and now have the opportunity to keep my knowledge and enjoyment of education up to date with the role of governor at Moorpark.

I qualified as a teacher in 1991 and have worked in schools in Lancashire and Staffordshire. I was first a governor many years ago and am very happy to become involved in governance again. I have two sons in secondary education and I currently work as a tutor to children who are home-educated.

Mrs Helen Bancroft

I joined Jackfield Infant and Moorpark Junior  as a governor in 2022.  I have a background in statutory youth work having worked for a local authority for 7 years delivering on targeted youth work projects such as detached/outreach and direct one to one work.  I have a back ground in delivering informal education around healthy relationships/emotional resilience and confidence and other hot spot topics including child exploitation and county lines. My specialist knowledge sits around emotional well-being and mental health.  I know that many children will suffer significantly from an early age with poor mental health issues, exacerbated by the effects of Covid 19.   

I have experience of delivering therapeutic work directly to children and young people in a trauma informed environment which is based on psychological evidence and research.
